Natural Foods Market will begin penny rounding on July 1, 2026.
You can always pay with pennies and all card payments will be in the full amount.
Rounding will apply to the cash change you receive from us at the register.
If the customer is owed an amount ending in 1 or 2 cents, the system will round down to 0.
If the customer is owed an amount ending in 3 or 4 cents, the system will round up to 5.
If the customer is owed an amount ending in 6 or 7 cents, the system will round down to 5.
If the customer is owed an amount ending in 8 or 9 cents, the system will round up to 0.
For example, a purchase that costs $16.87 and the customer pays with a $20.00. The change would be $3.23 rounded to $3.25.
